Hush Little Baby

For 2 days in a row now I have been able to get the boys to take a nap with me. Do you think that I can do for 3 days in a row? How could such sweet little faces cause such mayhem in our home when they are running around?

Happy Birthday Boys!

On Thursday the boys turned 2 years old. They definitely act like little 2 year olds, but it is still hard to believe that they are ALREADY 2! Where have those couple years gone? We have all enjoyed them so much in our home. It is fun being the parents to see the love that Jessica and Jocelyn have for their little brothers.

The boys are really into trains lately. So Jared and I decided to take them to the McCormick-Stillman Train Park in Scottsdale, AZ. They have a fun little train that you can ride on, a carousel, and lots of playground equipment to play on. They weren't so sure about the carousel once they were on it, but they loved the train and loved running around the park looking at the trains. We then took them out for lunch where they got their favorite thing...french fries. They discovered that they love dipping them first in ketchup and then ranch dressing. . . "YUMMY"

That night we opened presents. What little boy doesn't love balls and throwing them? So we got them a basketball hoop that they can now hopefully have a constructive place to throw their balls. Friday night we had a little party with our good friends the Bickmores. I spent that day working on their cake. I don't know why, because I have never done one before, but I decided that I was going to make the boys' cake. I had it pretty much done and sitting in the fridge. I came into the kitchen and found that Jayden and Jacob were in the fridge and Jayden had a big handful of cake. Part of the engine was now gone. I tried and patch it up with LOTS

of frosting.

We had been practicing trying to blow out the candles but when the spotlight was on them they didn't perform. Sounds like a typical kid doesn't it? Hopefully they had a great couple days being spoiled rotten. We love you Jacob & Jayden and Happy Birthday.

Thanksgiving Treasures

I was a boring, boring person for Halloween. I didn't get any decorations out because I knew exactly what was going to happen when the boys were around. I don't know what got into me today but I thought that I would decorate a little bit for Thanksgiving. (Maybe it has a little to do with going to JoAnn's last night and seeing all the fall decor 70% off!) The boys thought that it was Christmas around our house as I was pulling out the pumpkins and other fall paraphernalia. I keep on finding stuff put here and there throughout the house. They found some old cameras today (yes, I wasn't paying close attention to them as I was getting out the fall decorations). I would find that they would cluster a bunch of stuff together and take pictures of it. The stuffed turkey is the prized possession for the both of them. They both already have bite marks on their backs over good ol' Tom turkey. I have to keep reminding myself though that kids are what makes the holidays fun. As long as Tom still has a head by Thanksgiving I will be a happy mom. I can't even imagine what is going to happen around here when the Christmas stuff comes out of the boxes. :)
(In the 1st video Jayden is saying "wahoo" to the turkey to get its attention for its portrait. . . just thought that I would clarify.)

My 2 little helpers. What would I do without them?

The Day After

When I found that the boys had escaped from the house Saturday morning with nothing on but their pajama shirts and their diapers I decided that the damage was done and I should let them run around and get some of the sugar from the previous night out of their systems. The sprinklers had just barely gone off so they were a little wet and muddy and A LOT HAPPY! Jocelyn was having fun doing acrobatics on the play-yard, Jayden was running all over the yard enjoying the freedom of no clothes, and Jacob thought that he would "help" dad with some irrigation problems.

Hard To Let Go

I got the baby walker out yesterday because I was going to be watching a baby for a little while. The boys had such a hard time sharing the walker with baby Will. Let's just say that you know that they are TOO BIG when they can get in and out all by themselves. Sorry boys, you are growing up now and not all the toys are for you. It is hard to grow up.

Brotherly Love

I know that I talk a lot about how the boys are so mischevious an get into a lot of trouble together. But I have to say that not a day goes by without me watching what great friends they are to one another. Their brain waves must be on the same frequency because it is amazing how many times they just sit and play the same things, without even talking. Twins have been so much fun for us because it is neat to see this bond that they each have for one another. They really are pretty considerate of each other. If one is unhappy the other one usually tries to make them happy, whether it be with a hug or by getting them a toy or blanket. Wouldn't it be cool to know how their bond feels?

Peach Wars

On Sunday, September 28th Jacob had a fever so I stayed home from church with both of the boys. Since no one else was home I put on a movie for the boys to watch while I ran to the bathroom. I heard them giggling and throwing things. It sounded like one of their balls that they were throwing around. A couple minutes later I heard rocks being thrown. (I have some decorative little stones in the living room.) I went out and found that they were putting rocks in my guitar. Wonderful. All was good until I turned around and found that they had smashed whole peaches on the carpet in the living room. I was pretty irritated until I walked into the kitchen to get some paper towels and noticed that they had smashed about 8 other peaches on the floor. I mean it was everywhere. Those little turkeys. Let's just say that I had a busy morning mopping the floor and cleaning carpets. :) The real kicker of the story is a Murphy's Law. I just mopped the floor and really got all the gung out of all the cracks the night before. When I went to clean up the boys I noticed that Jacob had smeared peaches on the back of his head. What happened there?
