Fashionable Foot Wear

So many of you know that I have been having foot problems for quite some time. I finally went to the foot doctor a few weeks ago to find out what can be done for my feet. I am anxiously awaiting my orthotics to arrive and I have now received my night-time splints. I am sure that a surgery will be happening at some point as well (when do you schedule surgery around 4 kids?) Well, I know you all are dying to see the splints so here it is...the pic of my newest foot attire. I am supposed to wear these splints to bed every night. I don't know what I was thinking when the doctor told me that I was going to be wearing splints to bed...I assumed something small and plastic. Imagine my surprise when I showed up to pick them up and they handed me ski boots! The purpose of the splint is that it keeps my feet at a 90 degree angle constantly so that it stretches out different muscles in the foot and the Achilles tendon. They are meant for the heel pain that I have when I wake up and get out of bed. It takes about 10 minutes of waddling around for my feet to not hurt so bad. They say that between 4 and 12 weeks of wear I should be able to tell a difference. I have now had them for 1 week but haven't yet been able to wear them all night long. I usually end up taking them off about 3:00 a.m. They aren't the most comfortable things around and they are a little on the awkward side if you want to turn over in bed. I have started wearing them though when I watch tv or reading in the evening. I am willing to do anything to make my feet not hurt so bad.
