Guess What I Learned?

When my mom was here in February she taught me how to change out the electrical outlets and light switches.  A couple Saturdays ago Jared and I went to work at changing out the old cream covered outlets and switches to white.  We finished the family room and the kitchen.  Wow!  What a difference this tiny change has made in our house.  Thanks mom for teaching me this new skill.  Thanks Jared for being there for our Saturday project so that you could keep going to Home Depot for more supplies.

School Project

Jessica had a month to work on her map of the USA.  She had to cut out all the states and glue them on.  Write the state name and find and write down all the capitals.  She also had to find and show several other cities,glue yarn on for rivers and the time zones, and made 3-D mountains.  She also had to come up with a "jazzy border."  Jessica's idea was to use the state seals for her border.  It was a fun project, but I for one am glad that it is over with.  I think that her map turned out great.  It is fun to go to the school right now because they have the entire 5th grade's maps on display in the hallway. 

Birthday Party

Jocelyn invited a few of her friends to go roller skating with her to celebrate her birthday.  What a great place to do a party.  The mess was all left behind and the girls all had a fun time.  A couple things that they were able to do was that the entire group got to yell, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOCELYN!"  into the microphone.  Jocelyn also was able to go into the ticket booth  It was a fun day for us all!

Happy 9th Birthday Jocelyn!

We had a nice quiet celebration for Jocelyn's 9th birthday on February 18th.  She was surprised when she opened up her DS.  She has ben wanting one for a couple years!  She wanted pizza for dinner and wanted me to make a chocolate ice cream cake. 

Dearest Jocelyn, Our family would have been so different without you in it!  You have the cutest little laugh that is contagious for the rest of us.  You have your own sense of style which I admire.  You are the best sharer in the entire family which I appreciate.  Even though I am your mother, I want you to know that I look up to you and try to be more like you.
