Christmas in January!

The Kelms were supposed to come for Christmas this year, but Aline got sick so unfortunately they had to stay home.  Both the kids and the grandparents were sad.  The boys have been eyeing the Grandma/Grandpa presents for an entire month now (I'm surprised that the presents were still wrapped!).  The second the Kelms came in the door the boys ran and got the presents so that they could help open them.  In case you can't read the saying on Wolf's cap, it says:  Don't Forget the Senior Discount.  He is infamous for asking EVERYONE for his senior discout.  Now all he has to do is point to his hat.  The boys got cute little battery-powered trains and the girls each got a gift card to Wal-Mart.  The boys have absolutely LOVED the trains and the $ just burned a hole in the girls pockets (they already went with Grandma to spend every cent on their card).

They also brought down these beautiful afghans that Jared's sister, Trisha, crocheted for the kids.  The kids immediately wrapped themselves up in them and even now carry them all over the house.  Thank you Trisha!
Instread of a traditional Christmas dinner we took the Kelms to a German restaraunt for dinner.  It was DELICIOUS!  Next on the list for the weekend is making gingerbread houses.  Will post pics after the activity!

Christmas Spirit

This is what we watched for part of our Family Home Evening tonight. What a great way to add the Spirit in our home. May we all feel the Spirit of Christ in our lives this Christmas Season.

Joy to Everyone

Last night for Activity Days we let the girls watch, "The Nativity Story" and eat pizza and popcorn. The leaders beforehand bore their testimonies about the Christmas season and our thoughts and feelings about Jesus Christ. The feeling in the room was awesome last night. It was so great to hear the girls all tell what they were feeling after they saw the movie. I have been thinking about that feeling and the movie all day. I was so excited when I came across this website today. It made me happy. I get so caught up in everything that needs to get done for Christmas that sometimes I forget the true meaning of the holiday. The video and music are beautiful. Take a moment and have a listen; it will make your day even better. Enjoy! Click on Joy to Everyone to get there!
