Summer Reading Program

Jocelyn, Michaley, & Hannah

Jocelyn's 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Bell, encouraged the kids to READ, READ, READ during the summer. She told the kids that if they read 25 books and wrote a few sentences about 10 of the books that they would get to be a part of a special pizza party that she would throw for them. YEAH! Jocelyn accomplished this goal with many tears, but at least she accomplished it. There were only 9 kids in her class that were able to attend this special pizza party. I think that having Jocelyn do this during the summer and being able to be a part of the party has helped her self-esteem in reading. It's amazing how a little confidence makes a world of difference in how a child performs in school. Great job Jocelyn. We are so proud of you!
